Image-To-Text AI Tools

1. Google Drive + Google Docs (Free)

How it works

  • Upload the Image
    Go to Google Drive, click New > File upload, and choose your image (JPEG, PNG, etc.).
  • Open the Image with Google Docs

Right-click the uploaded image in Google Drive, select Open with, and choose Google Docs.  

Text Extraction
Google Docs will automatically extract the text from the image and show it below the image in a new document. You can edit or copy the text.

 2. Online OCR Tools (Free)

How it works: Websites like OnlineOCR.net, Free OCR, or i2OCR allow you to upload an image and convert it to text instantly.

Steps - Using OnlineOCR.net as an example

Go to the OCR Website:  Visit OnlineOCR.net.

Upload the Image: Click the Select File button to upload your image.

Choose the Language and Output Format: Select the language of the text in the image and choose the output format (TXT, DOCX, PDF, etc.).

Start the OCR Process: Click the Convert button, and the tool will process the image and display the extracted text.

Download the Text: Once the process is complete, you can download the output file.

3. Microsoft OneNote (Free)

How it works: OneNote allows you to insert an image, right-click it, and extract text with a simple click.

Steps: Insert the Image into OneNote
Open Microsoft OneNote, create a new note and insert the image (Click Insert > Pictures).

Copy Text from the Image: Right-click on the image and choose Copy Text from Picture.

Paste the Text: Paste the copied text into the OneNote page or any other document.
Editing: You can now edit or format the extracted text as needed.
